These Caramel Spooky Apples are a fun and delicious Halloween treat for the kids. The pumpkin caramel sauce is bursting will all your favorite fall flavors!

My boys love apples and will eat them just about anyway they can. We decided to make these apples a little more special. We added a drizzle of Pumpkin Caramel Sauce from Tastefully Simple. You may remember my Caramel Cream Soda Floats we made earlier this year. This caramel sauce is just as delicious but with some fun fall spices. My boys and I loved the Apple Monster Mouths that are a part of Tastefully Simple’s Halloween Entertaining Collection and we decided to put our own spin on them.
First we sliced an apple and cut out the middle with a mini cookie cutter. You could also use the top of a soda bottle. We placed the apple slices on silicon baking sheet covered pan. We popped the caramel sauce in the microwave for a few seconds and drizzled it on top in a back and forth motion.
We created our caramel spooky eyes in two different ways. The first way we used a mini chocolate cookie and separated the two pieces. We layed them down on top of the apple and added two black pupils with some black glitter gel. You could also use a small amount of black icing. For our other eyes we just used our favorite candy eyes that you can find in any craft store…just look in the baking section 🙂
The pumpkin caramel sauce really was the center of attention. It added so much flavor! If you don’t want to make the faces you could also just slice apples and dip them in the warm pumpkin caramel sauce. But these caramel spooky apples really are so simple and the kids just love them! It’s a fun kids treat that even they can help make.
I would suggest serving these immediately. You can pop them back in the refrigerator until they are ready to be eaten, but they will begin to get watery and brown if you wait too long. We had no problem eating them right away 🙂
