Seven weeks ago we brought home our sweet little bundle of pink: Addyson Grace. Like most new Moms, when I brought her home I knew I would be up multiple times during the night not only with midnight feedings but to check on her to make sure she was doing okay. I doesn’t really matter how many kids you already have, there is just something about a new baby that can be nerve wracking at times.
Both of my boys slept in our room in a bassinet until they were almost 5 months old and even then it was hard to have them sleep in their own room. My mind could just never completely shut off from wondering if they were okay. When we found out we were expecting our third child I began searching for baby must haves and heard about Owlet from a blogging friend.
The Owlet is a small smart sock that tracks your little munchkins oxygen level and heart rate by the same pulse oximetry technology that hospitals use. You download the Owlet app on your IOS device and it will alert you if anything seems abnormal. The Owlet comes with three different sock sizes to grow with your child. For the newborn size sock, which is what Addy is still using, the sensor goes on the bottom of the foot and always on the left foot. For the larger size socks the sensor goes on the top of the foot and again, always on the left foot.
The Owlet has become our third set of eyes and I really love the Owlet and the comfort it can bring to your family. We no longer are having to perform our ninja moves in the dark to prevent from stepping on any squeaky cracks. We can look at our phone and see just how well our princess is doing. It’s definitely a must have for any new parent! I appreciate Owlet for helping us keep our babies a little safer one little Owlet Smart Sock at a time!
I fully understand that the Owlet can be a bit more expensive ($250) than most baby gadgets but I definitely think peace of mind is worth it, especially for parents of children that may have a few more difficulties than others. I received an Owlet Smart Sock to review but all opinions are 100% mine.
