Next month is a very busy month for me! I celebrate my 5th wedding anniversary to my lovely husband, we celebrate the 3rd birthday of our first son Jacob and my blog turns one! For the next 5 months I will be celebrating a family members birthday as well! One of my favorite things to receive for any special occasion is a gift card! It’s so fun to shop and get what you want and/or need! My family members also love to receive gift cards so I thought it would be fun to make some pretty gift card holders! I recieved a package full of wonderful crafting supplies —specifically the Amy Tangerine line from American Crafts— and used some of the bright and cheery scrapbooking paper to make these!
Aren’t all the colors gorgeous!! Do you want to get your hands on some of these goodies! Well you are in luck because this beautiful Amy Tangerine Plus One paper craft collection will be available for sale on HSN, March 24. This collection was the top selling signature line released in winter 2014. It even sold out in most stores and online! You can get the bundles for $20 or less!
This bundles include: a basic kit, an embroidery kit, an embellishment kit and a stamping kit.The sold out Plus One Project Life Mini Kit will also be available at a discounted rate.
Now that you are done drooling over the colorful goodness, let me show you how I made these gift card holders!
Cut out two rectangle shapes slightly larger than your gift card.
Taking one of your paper rectangles sew on your ribbon. Keeping your needle down, lift your presser foot and fold your ribbon into itself and repeat until finished.
Take your two rectangle pieces and lay them together with right sides facing out. Sew around three of the four edges. Insert your gift card. To make the turquoise one, all you need to do is sew around all four sides and attach a fun mini clothespin at the top to hold your gift card. I also used my pinking shears to add a little more flare to the gift card holder. Enjoy and have fun seeing the smiles you will get by adding this special touch!
