Lately I have been trying to use more homemade natural products in my household along with eating a bit healthier. A few days ago, I decided to try my hand at some dryer sheets and they work great! My clothes came out nice and soft and even though it calls for white vinegar, you don’t smell it at all. I promise! 🙂 I love being able to cut out the chemicals that store bought dryer sheets have in them. I also like to save money and this definitely saves some cash! I will be making my own clothes detergent soon too and I’m excited to share that with you as well! For these dryer sheets I used my Lavender Essential Oil but you could easily swap it out for lemon or another essential oil that you love!
Here are the super simple steps for making your own dryer sheets:
a jar with a lid, I bought mine at Walmart for $2 but you could also use a mason jar.
1 cup white vinegar
10-20 drops of essential oil, it depends on how strong you want your clothes to be. You can also add more to the jar after a few loads if desired.
Cut up fabric pieces- I cut about 10-12 and plan on using about 4 each load.
Insert your fabric pieces into the jar.
Pour 1 cup of white vinegar and 10-20 drops of Lavender Essential Oil into the jar.
Stir your mixture or place lid on top and shake carefully.
On laundry day take out a couple fabric pieces and pop them into the dryer.
