I know there are pocket pillow directions all over the world wide web :) but I thought I would share one anyway! :) Pocket pillows are so simple to make and can make a huge difference! I have found pillows in K-mart that are super fluffy but HATED the pattern and score...they were on clearance for about 3 dollars each....buy some fabric and you have a brand new pillow for super cheap!
First you want to measure the size pillow you want to cover. Then cut a piece of fabric that is the same or about a 1/2 inch bigger width wise. Alot of times I keep the width the same size as the pillow so that they pillow cover is nice and tight. You want the length of your pillow case to be twice the length of your pillow plus about 4 or 5 inches. You will end up with a long rectangular piece.
One each of the short sides of your fabric press up a 1/4 inch seam and then repeat. You can also serge your sides for a faster approach.
Laying your fabric right side facing you, fold over one side of your fabric and then fold the other piece over making sure you fold it over at least 3 inches from the one you layed down first.
Adjust your measurements until your fabric is roughly the same size as your pillow. Sew/Serge down both unfinished sides.
Turn your pillow cover right side out and insert your pillow!
I love making pillows and pillow covers its so fun to add flower embellishments and ruffles!
Happy Crafting!
