My sister Courtney graduated college two weeks ago and is now pursuing her career in professional photography. I am one proud big sister! She graduated with a flawless 4.0! All her hard work sure payed off!
She had such a special day.
Here is me and my 4 siblings! I am the oldest, Courtney is the one that graduated, Ashlea and Aaron are twins and Faithy girl is the baby of the family!
I love my sisters!

For a small graduation gift, I made Courtney some camera strap holders! I know LOTS of you have some of the fancier cameras that have the longer straps that could use some of these. I on the other hand only have a little point and shoot. Maybe one day I can get a nicer/bigger camera.
First, I measured the size of her camera strap and decided where I wanted the strap to start and end. My measurements were 27 in. x 1 1/2 in. I then added 1 inch to my measurements for seam allowances leaving me with 28 in x 2 1/2 in.
Project was made with a 1/2 inch seam allowance unless otherwise noted.
Cut out enough squares needed to meet your required measurements. Since you will be sewing your squares together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance you will need to add an additional 2 inches to your needed length, so that once all sewn together with the seam allowances, it will equal your needed length.
Place your first two squares right sides together and sew with a 1/4 in. seam allowance. Hot iron your seams out and repeat until all of your squares are sewn together. Once sewn together, you can then straighten any uneven edges with your rotary cutter or scissors.
OPTIONAL: Top stitch around your fabric squares.
Cut out a 28 in x 2 1/2 in piece of lining or back piece of fabric and batting.
Fold over you bottom edges over 1/4 inch, repeat and sew in place. Do this to all four ends.
Place your pieces right sides together. Your layers should be, the two fabric pieces facing right sides together and the batting underneath. Sew down both sides and turn right side out
You can make other versions too....Here are two other ones I made for her. These were a little simplier because they were made out of two long pieces and it was simply just cutting out the two pieces, sewing them together and turning them right side out. I added a cute fabric flower to one and a ruffle to the other.
HAPPY CRAFTING!
