Little Boys Baseball Cap Holder

{Don't forget to link up to this weeks HOMEMADE BY YOU and enter this weeks GIVEAWAY}

Jakey is finally at that fun, cute stage where he is starting to look like a little boy and not just a baby and what is cuter than a little boy in a baseball cap!  For his birthday last month, we bought him a few baseball caps.  After a few days of fighting with him to keep it ON his head, he now does and LOVES them!  I wanted a cute place to hang them so I made a trip to Michaels and found a few things that work perfect for just what I wanted!!

Materials:
Round wooden plaques
round prepainted sports shapes
Metal Hooks ( the ones that have a screw at the bottom end)
Paint
Wood glue

Gather your supplies.

Don't you just LOVE those prepainted shapes....there are soooo many different kinds.

Paint your wooden plaques the color you desire.  I didn't bother painting the top because the sports shapes are going to be covering that area anyway.  Once dry, varnish your piece. ( This step is required, but makes the wood look nicer)

Put some wood glue on the back of your sports pieces and glue to the wooden plaque.  TIP: Dont put your glue too close to the end like I did, or you will have a mess of glue to clean up that got pushed out. :)

Put something heavy on top of your pieces.  Scrapbooking paper anyone?! I left it on over night because...well...I was tired and wanted to go to bed, but you could probably just leave it there for a few hours or so.

Gather your hooks and screw them into the center of your round wood pieces

Now you can either hot glue a looped piece of jute to hang your pieces up or one of those saw tooth hooks.

I placed them below his Sports printable that you can find Baseball Printable!

Felt Summer Blossoms

{Don't forget to link up HERE at this weeks Homemade By You and enter this weeks giveaway!}

I just LOVE looking at all the gorgeous felt flowers on pinterest and one of my favorite ones is this rolled felt flower.  I decided to make a little bouquet with this little cuties!  I plan on giving this to my Mom for mothers day and I think it's just perfect for her work office.  I love that these flowers won't die in a few days :)  Want to make flowers for your mom or just because they are perfect for the summer season?!

Here are the materials you will need:
Felt for flowers
Felt for leaves
Wooden skewers
Jute
Ribbon
Buttons
Glass beads
Hot glue gun
small candle holder/vase

Decide what color felt you want to use for your flowers

Cut out three long strips and three short strips (  you can change the amount and size of your strips depending on how big and full you want your bouquet to be.

Fold your strip lengthwise and place a small bead of hot glue to hold the sides together.

Make small cuts the whole way down your strip of felt.   Make sure you don't cut through the whole thing.

Now ROLL your felt, using hot glue to hold in place.

This is what it/they should look like when finished.  I have three big ones and three small ones.

Cut your skewers in half

Hot glue your skewer to the back of your flower

Cut a small circle out of felt and hot glue around the skewer.  This makes it look nicer from behind.

Cut out green leaves. Add a bead of hot glue to the middle bottom of your leaf and squeeze.

Hot glue your leaf to your flowers.

I decided to hot glue my sticks to the bottom of my glass jar to hold things in place better.

Hot glue all your pieces to the jar and add your glass beads. This step is optional, but I think it makes things look nicer. I then added some jute and a matching ribbon.

You can either leave the flowers they way they are for a more "elegant" look or do what I did and add buttons.  I thought it made the flowers look a little more cutesey and springy!

My Simple but Sweet Craft Room

Two coats of paints and multiple projects later, I am now ready to show you my little craft room!  Before I show you any pictures I want to be honest.  I do NOT have one of those " magazine craft rooms" My creative space is rather small, but perfect.  I could have chosen a bigger size room, but we would like to have more children and I would much rather my kiddos have a bigger room than me! I don't have fancy tables with secret space saving compartments---instead I have paneled walls that have been painted, missing molding and now a cupboard without a door because my chubby buddy decided to rip it off! ;)

Remember my Fabric Scrap Knot Bunting ...well I found this cute frame at Michaels for around $6 and decided to make a small chalkboard below it... I painted the frame twice.  Traced a square shape on my wall and painted it with chalkboard paint.  I just love how it turned out!

See that white cabinet below....found that at a local auction.  Got it for $10!
I put my Frame Picture Board above it! I just love looking at my baby's face when I'm crafting!

I glued a yard stick to the side of my table to help measure larger pieces of fabric faster.

I added some paper and cute turquoise flowers to a clear plastic organizer.
I hated being able to see everything in there.

While on our mini vacation to Mystic Connecticut I was able to shop FOR MY FIRST TIME in a Hobby Lobby.....and can I say...I am SUPER excited to have just found out that a Hobby Lobby is coming to my area!!! Wooo Hooo!   Anyway, I found these cute letters and spray painted them.  I hung them above my Diy Valance.

My opposite wall has a long table with my small ironing board.
Check out my Ironing Board Cover  to see how you can make a cover to match your craft room space!
I have a small ribbon organizer.  Found it at Michaels on a Black Friday with a 40% off coupon---double score!

Remember my Framed Cork Board.  I placed it above my sewing machines; again, I get to see my cutie and the hubby!

I have a tall cabinet on my other wall---don't you love the missing white piece in the corner.
I put my Fabric Covered Cans on top!  I have lots of storage!

Again, my craft room is nothing you will find in a magazine, but it's perfect for me and budget friendly! I'm sure I will make more things and spruce it up as time goes on, but that is what it looks like for now and it works for me! :)

Happy Crafting!!
