Just Because Days...

I LOVE "Just Because" days.  Those are the days my wonderful hubby brings home a special treat showing just how much he loves me for now reason at all, "just because" he is awesome! :)  Yesterday was one of those days...He brought home a beautiful bouquet of flowers and I didn't have a fancy vase on hand so I decided to take a mason jar and spruced it up a little bit.  This project took less than 5 minutes!  It's a small touch, but adds just enough without taking away the beauty of the flowers.

Materials:
Mason jar
Jute
Ribbon
Hot glue gun

Place a small amount of hot glue on your mason jar and attach your jute.  Continue to wrap the jute around your jar placing a small bead of hot glue every few inches to keep the jute in place.

Continue wrapping your jute until you reach your desired thickness.  Add a ribbon and your flowers!

Aren't they beautiful!!

Teachers, Classes & Books...OH MY!

I am surrounded by family members that are going to college.  My sister Courtney is graduating this weekend!  I am so proud of you girly!!  My Aunt Julie decided to go back to school a few years ago and just graduated on Monday.WOO HOO to you too!  My sister in law is in college and my husband is taking his Masters.. I know alot of you have family members in school either finishing up a degree or furthering their education.

One thing that seems to be in common with all college "students" is BOOKS.  I can't even begin to tell you the amount of $ that my family members have had to spend on necessary books and then to have to either sell them or store them away can be such a waste..... A great solution is....
Campus Book Rentals.  This website is a perfect solution for needing a book, but not really wanting to have to get stuck with the book when you are done.... Here are some of the great perks this site has to offer!

*  They have nearly ever book you could think of

Fabric Scrap Knot Bunting

Are you getting sick of seeing projects and tutorials with the colors white, turquoise and yellow yet???  I promise I will expand my colors choices soon....I am just so busy trying to get things  done just the way I want them in my craft room, but obviously you all know that you can change colors and fabric to the colors you love!  I can't wait to show you what the whole wall looks like with this fun bunting, I had to show you just one small part because I didn't want you to see whats on the rest of the wall :)  Soon enough I will!

Materials:
Strips of Fabric
Jute/Ribbon/String

Decide how long you need your bunting to be and cut a piece of jute or ribbon.  Cut out LOTS of fabric strips!  I don't have an exact amount of what I cut out...sorry.  It all depends on how big or small you want your bunting.  I cut my strips to be about 8 inch X 2 in.

Tie your jute up somewhere...you can even hang it on the wall where you plan on leaving it.  Tie your individual strips in a knot on your jute.

It's best if you keep your knots close together.  It gives your bunting a fuller look!

This project was done in like 30 minutes.  Making those knots takes a little time :)  I just love the look of this bunting.  It would be super cute in some pinks and purples for a little girls room too :)
