Mr. & Mrs. Corner Bookmarks

If your looking for the {HOMEMADE BY YOU} link party click HERE

My husband has been nicely bugging me for days now to make him a bookmark, and I have been pushing it off :)  Well,I have seen these cute little paper corner bookmarks floating around on pinterest...

Inspiration from I Could Make That

..and I decided to make my own out of fabric, but by all means, if you would rather the paper---go for it!  I just have so many scraps of fabric that I wanted to try to use some up.  You can download her free pattern on the website OR....I decided to sketch out my own  FREE pattern that you can print off right(HERE)
( you can even try drawing your own pattern for different sizes and what not...it really wasn't that difficult)

Supplies:
Paper or Fabric
Hot Glue/Elmers Paper Glue
Heat N' Bond
Felt
Printed Pattern or try making your own

My directions are for making a Fabric corner bookmark.

Print off the pattern. Cut two piece of fabric equal in size.  Place a small piece of Heat N' Bond on one of the pieces of fabric.  Be sure to place the shiny side of the Heat N' Bond  on the ugly side of the fabric. ( follow the directions on the package)  Press with a hot iron.

Peel the paper off and place your fabric on top of the other piece--Ugly sides together.  Use your hot iron to permamently "glue" the pieces together.

Sorry for the use of different fabric....I had forgotten to take a picture of this step while using the pink fabric normally I could blame this on trying to be crafty while my son was in the room destorying things, but I can't because he was being good ;)

Lay your pattern piece down and cut out your shape.

Take your tall corners and fold them down to form a triange shape.  You can use a small amount of hot glue in the corners to hold in place if needed.

Trim any excess fabric and hot glue the TOP triange shape to the bottom one.

Add any little embellishments to your hearts content. For mine I cut out a small blue felt flower & two green leaves and hot glued them on.

For the Mr.'s I cut out two white eyes, two black pupils and set of monster teeth and hot glued these pieces down as well.

These two bookmarks were done in less than 20 minutes.  Such a quick little project.  I have a feeling I'll be making a bunch more.  I come from a family of bookworms :)  Would love to see your remakes of them!

Happy Crafting!
